Downtown Brooklyn Presents: Pop-Up Beach Party

We’re back with our BK Block Parties! We’re creating beach vibes on Albee Square, featuring a special concert with Meta and the Cornerstones who has been called “the future of reggae music” (Nat Geo Music). Badminton, sand art, Jamaican patties from Golden Krust, a beach-themed photo booth, and more. Spend your Summer Saturday lounging on Albee Square with us!

Meta and The Cornerstones channel Roots Reggae while simultaneously breathing new life into the genre, thus creating what critics have called a “soul-pounding spiritual experience” during their live performances. Born in Senegal, West Africa, lead singer Meta Dia, discovered his love for music at 14 years old and performed on the streets of his hometown Dakar. In the United States, he formed his visionary band, whose sound is a melting pot rooted in diversity, strength and unity as they combine their creative differences from Africa, Asia, the Middle East and the Caribbean.
