Downtown Brooklyn line-up for Make Music New York
June 20, 2013
You may remember our post earlier this spring when we talked with the good folks at Make Music New York (MMNY) about their plans for organizing musical performances in spaces throughout the city – including some of Downtown Brooklyn’s public plazas. Now’s your chance to peruse the official schedule for performances in our neighborhood’s three participating locations: Albee Square, Willoughby Plaza, and Hoyt Plaza.
MMNY is New York City’s largest music festival, occurring entirely on one day, at hundreds of venues, featuring hundreds of musicians. Last year, over 1,000 performances turned New York into a concert stage, thanks to the festival’s unique matchmaking method of pairing available artists with public locations throughout the city.
For 2013’s longest day of the year, five different artists will perform at Albee Square starting from 11am until 10pm. First up is classical flutist Anne Dearth, followed by Amma Whatt, SickSentz, DJ Ace and Much Finesse, and closing with hip-hop and R&B group, SusLife.
At the other end of Fulton Mall, urban folk singer-songwriter Lindsey Wilson will take the stage at Willoughby Plaza at 11am, followed by Disco Baassik, KGenius, and Japanese Latin music duo Lina and Sakai.
