Free public WiFi on the Commons

MetroTech Commons continues to be one of the most bustling areas in Downtown Brooklyn – especially during this season’s Summer@MetroTech series. And thanks to the free public WiFi provided year-round by Forest City Ratner Companies, the Commons is also a convenient area for those in the neighborhood to access the Internet.
“In this new digital age the first thing a person does when they reach a destination is check for a WiFi signal,” said Ashley Cotton, Senior Vice President for Forest City Ratner Companies. “By providing free WiFi throughout the MetroTech Commons, we, along with Chase, have helped make the Commons an amazing destination for those working and living in the Downtown Brooklyn area.”
With dozens of tables and benches under the shade of trees, MetroTech Commons provides a perfect change of office scenery. Surrounding restaurants such as Café Metro, La Defense, and Luciano’s allow visitors to grab a meal or cup of coffee to fuel the work load.
“It’s a great place to come when I want to spend some time just working on the computer,” said Joshua Koller, a Construction Management student at Pratt Institute, who was checking emails while sipping on an iced coffee. “There’s so much stuff around here. It’s in the middle of everything, but it’s still calm. The atmosphere still lets me get things done.”
