Performing the Streets = free live music + dance
September 10, 2014
Jazz guitarist Rafael Rosa, Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Kat Ledell, experimental DJ NorvisJr, and dancer-choreographer Andre Zachery are among the highlight performances of this fall’s Performing the Streets, which starts next Thursday, September 4th.
The third annual series, curated by the Downtown Brooklyn Arts Alliance, features free music and dance performances presented by performing arts groups based in the Brooklyn Cultural District – from MoCADA to the Actors Fund to 651 Arts.
“The Brooklyn Cultural District has evolved into a true 21st century arts destination,” said Tucker Reed, President of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership. “This series is a great way to bring some of the performances happening in our cultural venues everyday out into public spaces for our workers, residents, students, and visitors to enjoy.”
All performances will take place on Thursday evenings at 5:30pm. In September, Willoughby Plaza will feature all live music performances; in October, the medium switches to dance at Albee Square. Click here to check out the full line-up of events.
