As one of Brooklyn’s major art and tech hubs, Dumbo Heights called out to us early on as the next great spot for creators. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome members to our newest WeWork location at 81 Prospect Street, which opened yesterday.
Becoming part of the Brooklyn community feels like a natural extension for us. Though WeWork has grown tremendously since it started in 2010—we now have 16 locations in Manhattan alone—there are so many more cities for us to discover and so many interesting creators to connect with. With its rich history and creative energy, Brooklyn holds a wealth of inspiration. We’re eager to go beyond Manhattan and get to know a new wave of entrepreneurs, freelancers, and small businesses looking to create their life’s work.
The idea of creating your life’s work is something important to us and to our community. There’s been a shift in recent years toward a new way of work—one focused on meaning. Especially with the growing generation of millennials in the workforce, we see a desire for a more fulfilling experience. WeWork is accelerating this movement toward meaning, helping to create a world where people work to make a life, not just a living.
Though our members have different needs based on their size or industry, it’s those values—for example, inspiration and collaboration—that remain consistent across the globe, and we take that into account when designing all of our physical spaces. Dumbo Heights is no exception. We’ve got some Brooklyn-inspired artwork, a WeWork Labs space for early-stage startups, and views that can’t be beat.
We’re truly excited to settle into our new home in Dumbo Heights and to get to know the newest members of our community, which is currently comprised of 23,000+ creators and going strong.
Come by for a beer and a tour; we’d love to meet you. If you have any questions or to schedule a tour, email email@example.com.
