Check out these four restaurants in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn that span Latin American, Sushi, American and Italian cuisine.
Pollo D’Oro, 306 Gold St.
This Peruvian spot puts the perfect twist on the beloved South American cuisine. The clean lines and well-lit aesthetic makes it place for casual lunches as well as after work social gatherings. Pollo D’Oro has several hearty options, but its signature rotisserie chicken is not to be missed, and you’ll want to take home tubs of their made-in-house green sauce that goes well on just about everything. there is also a full bar and great drinks, but go for the Pisco Sour, the traditional Peruvian drink.
Jun Shukudo, 306 Gold St. #C2
Get your sushi, sashimi and Teriyaki fixes while you sip on some delicious Sake at Jun Shukudo. This cozy Downtown Brooklyn Japanese restaurant makes up for it’s intimate size with a hugely authentic, traditional take on sushi and standout dishes like the fried ebi and black cod miso, which all keeps people coming back again and again.
Myrtle and Gold, 343 Gold St.
Set on the corner of, you guessed it, Myrtle Ave and Gold Street, Myrtle and Gold serves up what they refer to as “elevated comfort food” for lunch and dinner. Always trying out new dishes like Rally Fries, the Hallouminator, or Popcorn Cauliflower Nuggets, the extensive modern American menu goes well with any number of their hand-selected craft beer and wine. Stop by in the afternoon for coffee and grab a Bien Cuit croissant with it!
Forno Rosso Pizzeria, 327 Gold St.
This Italian eatery has everything you’d want in a New York pizzeria right in Downtown Brooklyn. Forno Rosso’s traditional wood-burning brick oven, spacious dining and bar area, exposed brick and friendly staff serve up great atmosphere as much as great food options like delicious thin crust pizzas and pasta dishes -including gluten-free options.
