Arts + Tech startups apply by July 14th to pitch for $5,000 cash prize
We’ve just announced the latest edition of the Make It in Brooklyn pitch contest, and applications are now open to all NYC startups using technology to rethink how we engage with art.
Once the application period closes on July 14th, five finalists will be chosen to pitch at the July 26th event at BMW’s A/D/O creative space in Greenpoint.
Startups apply here to pitch for $5,000 cash prize. (Deadline extended to July 14th due to holiday weekend.)
Tickets to the event cost $10 and include Brooklyn Brewery beer, snacks and networking with startups, venture capitalists and others in the creative arts and tech space. This could mean, but is not limited to, commerce platforms, viewing platforms, VR/AR, ticketing systems, inventory management, interactive display, among others.
The five finalists will be announced the week of July 9th and will pitch to the impressive judges panel, which includes De Angela Duff, Co-Director and an Industry Associate Professor of Integrated Digital Media at NYU Tandon School of Engineering; Jon Vanhala, Managing Director of Crossfade Partners; Joni Saylor, Design Principal at IBM; Catherine Levene, Co-Founder + CEO of Artspace Marketplace, Board Member at Purch and Bambeco; J.J. Kasper, Founder of Blue Seed Collective.
This is the first of the Make It in Brooklyn events to be held outside of Downtown Brooklyn, the heart of the borough’s innovation economy. By bringing Make It In Brooklyn just a short ride away to Greenpoint, the Partnership is demonstrating its commitment to enhance the linkages between the neighborhoods that make up the Innovation Corridor along the Brooklyn-Queens waterfront.
Partners for this event include JP Morgan Chase, who underwrite the Make It in Brooklyn series, and A/D/O (Mini), NEW INC and New York Foundation for the Arts.
