Staying fit beyond Summer@MetroTech Fitness
Keep it up! Here's how:
August 21, 2017
DBP’s inaugural Summer@MetroTech Fitness series was a heart-pumping triumph, and now that it’s wrapped up, you might need some ideas for staying fit in Downtown Brooklyn (spoiler alert - there are dozens of places for you to keep your fitness journey local):
Ping Pong @ MetroTech
Of course we put this first! Ping Pong Thursdays at the MetroTech Commons is also a new addition to our 2017 programming slate and has proven to be such a huge hit that - with the generous support of NYU Tandon School of Engineering - we’re continuing through September.
Salsa September @ Willoughby Plaza
Keep things moving by hitting the dance floor every Wednesday from 5-7PM this September with Salsa Salsa Dance Studio. They’ll teach you the basics for the first hour, and then you can practice all your new moves to a set from DJ John John Acevedo.
Putting “Mood Above Muscle”, the Blink Fitness on 252 Atlantic Avenue keeps you feeling good mentally as much as physically - especially with $15 monthly membership rates.
Our very own Dodge YMCA has very affordable programs and classes for all ages and fitness levels.
With locations on Duffield Street and Boerum Place, monthly membership at Planet Fitness starts at $10 a month and includes judgement-free fitness facilities, pizza, tootsie rolls, and the means to work those goodies off.
Tangerine Hot Power Yoga
Vinyasa flow in this yoga space on Schermerhorn Street heated to 95 degrees with 40% humidity. Mats and towels are provided.
This one-stop-shop gym on Bridge Street provides new equipment, a full class schedule, private trainer, shower facilities, and even workout clothes. You just bring yourself.
Physio Logic Pilates and Movement
This Fulton Street pilates facility offers an individualized approach at their integrated clinic to treat a wide range of acute and long-term wellness needs.
Yes, of course there’s a SoulCycle in Downtown Brooklyn, and it’s on Court Street.
Enjoy a full range of yoga classes for kids and adults of all skill levels at this yoga haven on Joralemon Street.
