What’s next? Find out at the 3rd annual 5x10 Talks

It’s official – the world is obsessed with TED Talks. We love them for their bite-sized content from global movers, doers, and change makers.

If you live or work here in Downtown Brooklyn, you know that the concentration of inspirational innovators is greater here than almost anywhere in the world. On Tuesday, February 23rd at BRIC, we here at the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership are bringing together five leading Downtown Brooklynites to talk for ten minutes around one simple topic – “What’s Next?”

In our third year running, let’s see where our incredible line-up of a Top Chef, the host of an award-winning podcast about the startup life, the heads of BAM and the Ms. Foundation, and the founder of a company bringing clean technology to inner cities have to say about that. The event also features special Downtown Brooklyn cultural presentations from the Brooklyn Music School, NY Writers Coalition, and Cause Collective.

Here’s the line-up for the 3rd annual 5x10 Talks:

  • Donnel Baird, CEO + Founder, BlocPower
  • Alex Blumberg, CEO + Co-Founder, Gimlet Media
  • Katy Clark, President, BAM
  • Dale Talde, Chef + Proprietor, Three Kings Restaurant Group
  • Teresa Younger, President + CEO, Ms. Foundation for Women

We’re also hosting a special VIP reception before the program with our featured speakers and performers, food from Mile End Deli and Rucola, and beer from Brooklyn Brewery. VIP tickets are $100 (general admission is $50), and all proceeds go toward supporting Downtown Brooklyn’s free community events. A limited number of early-bird VIP tickets are available at half price, so reserve before those run out!
