DESCRIPTION:Celebrate community\, creativity\, and connection at Community Joy Family Day and Forum\, a free afternoon for Brooklyn neighbors of all ages. \nPresented by The Legal Aid Society and BRIC Arts Media in honor of Legal Aid’s 150th anniversary\, this event will be a day uplifting community joy and connection\, highlighting the history of our community caring for one another and envisioning the Brooklyn we want to build together. \nBe Part of the Joy: \n• Live entertainment by Building Beats DJ “Pr3tty P”\n• Brooklyn Book Bodega children’s book giveaways\, artmaking and reading by local children’s book author and illustrator Christopher Silas Neal.\n• Make your own book and tell your own story with Booklyn: Free hands-on book / zine making workshop for all ages\, all day long. Materials provided to create a vision board for the future of Brooklyn you want to see.\n• At 1pm join Brooklyn Org and The Legal Aid Society for a community forum where residents can share the needs of the community and their vision for the Brooklyn they want to build. Elected leaders will be present.\n• Free food\, giveaways\, raffle prizes\, and more.
