Make It in
Brooklyn

Brooklyn is a place where entrepreneurship, technology, and innovation intersect, and Downtown Brooklyn is at the heart of it all. The Make It in Brooklyn campaign supports creative drive.

Make It in Brooklyn is Downtown Brooklyn Partnership’s initiative to support and highlight entrepreneurship and cultivate a lasting innovation ecosystem throughout Brooklyn. Our programs reach hundreds of start-ups and companies, and facilitate the spread of transformative ideas. Through pitch contests, meet-ups, and more we have brought together hundreds of entrepreneurs and provided over $120,000 in seed money and pro-bono professional services.

DBP partners with tech groups to solve operational and quality of life challenges facing cities. Using DBP-operated public spaces as testing grounds for their smart city technologies, participating groups and startups will share their data and findings with DBP for future planning purposes.

Meetup Series

For the past three years, Make It In Brooklyn, Downtown Brooklyn Partnership’s campaign to support entrepreneurship and cultivate a lasting innovation ecosystem throughout Brooklyn, has supported hundreds of start-ups. Our series of pitch contests, meet-ups, and summits have brought together hundreds of entrepreneurs and provided over $90,000 in seed money and pro-bono professional services.

Talent Connect

Make It in Brooklyn’s Talent Connect bridges the gap between Brooklyn’s higher education institutions and local innovation firms – connecting students to job and internship opportunities. Downtown Brooklyn is home to a wealth of higher education institutions, with more than 42,000 undergraduate and graduate students. We believe that this talent should be channeled into the equally thriving Brooklyn enterprise economy.
