An Intimate Evening Salon with Kimberly McCreight on Like Mother, Like Daughter

New York Times bestselling author Kimberly McCreight (The Outliers, When They Found Her) joins The Center for Fiction’s Members Lounge for a special evening to celebrate her new novel Like Mother, Like Daughter. The novel follows Cleo, a student at NYU, who returns to her childhood home in Brooklyn only to discover her mother Kat has disappeared, leaving behind a bloody shoe. Behind the image of a successful lawyer and perfect Park Slope mother, Kat has been hiding some things from Cleo. McCreight’s novel is both a suspenseful thriller and an emotional love story of a mother and daughter trying to save each other. Packed with twists and turns, Like Mother, Like Daughter thoughtfully explores the pressure imposed on mothers and the choices we make for family. Jonathan Santlofer (The Last Mona Lisa) joins McCreight for a conversation on the novel and his own new thriller, The Lost Van Gogh. Santlofer’s latest work is an electric tale about the hunt for the titular artist’s final self-portrait. Engage with the two authors through this intimate discussion of their work and the craft behind page-turning mysteries.
