The Downtown Brooklyn Arts Festival (DBAF) is an annual celebration of Downtown Brooklyn’s cultural community and the artists who inspire the borough’s creative spirit. DBAF 2023 takes place Friday, September 29 and Saturday, September 30. Acclaimed arts organizations from across the Brooklyn Cultural District will share programming at The Plaza at 300 Ashland with exciting performances, workshops, and family programming.
The modular collective, L Train Brass Band, will make The Plaza roar with a range of genres, from popular music and hip-hop to funk and traditional New Orleans jazz. Lollise, the Afrofuturistic soulstress, graces the festival with her sonically powerful and irresistibly funky aesthetic. DJ Hard Hittin’ Harry will provide a skillfully blended and diverse range of musical styles to create an unforgettable experience. Closing the festival is Chop and Quench (also known as “The Fela! Band”) an exceptional ensemble comprised of musicians from the cast and band of the renowned musical FELA!
