9/11: Portals: Doors to Black Past and Futures
This multidisciplinary dance work, presented by artist and choreographer, Kendra J.  Bostock, looks at everyday items in our lives that serve as portals to Black past, present and Afro-future. Bostock transports us across generations using her Sankofa process, inspired by the Ghanaian Akan term for “looking back to move forward.” Kendra J.  Bostock is a proud Detroit native working as a dancer, teaching artist, choreographer, arts administrator, facilitator, and community organizer in her current home, Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn.
