SOULSKIN Dance Company: Beauty

SOULSKIN DANCE presents the World Premiere of BEAUTY, a dance about challenging societal norms around self-image.  

Instead of comprehending the fact that beauty is relative and subjective, we accept society’s perspective as more important than our own, and seek validation based on constantly changing standards in a never-ending quest. Social media magnifies this thirst for validation until we are constantly posting our best self images for fear of being judged.

This addiction to projecting a distorted self image leads us to feel as if Society is dictating and monitoring our own behavior.

Inspired by the six pointed star, a sacred symbol in many religions and cultures, made from two opposing triangles which represent the masculine and feminine, earth and sky, interlocking in perfect harmony, our Beauty Ballet navigates a six part journey towards a perfect union of spiritual symbolism, harmony, and balance we all seek. It’s never too late to restore our Devine Power and True Beauty!
