BRIC in partnership with The Legal Aid Society Present: Community Joy Family Day and Forum
Celebrate community, creativity, and connection at Community Joy Family Day and Forum, a free afternoon for Brooklyn neighbors of all ages.
Presented by The Legal Aid Society and BRIC Arts Media in honor of Legal Aid’s 150th anniversary, this event will be a day uplifting community joy and connection, highlighting the history of our community caring for one another and envisioning the Brooklyn we want to build together.
Be Part of the Joy:
• Live entertainment by Building Beats DJ “Pr3tty P”
• Brooklyn Book Bodega children’s book giveaways, artmaking and reading by local children’s book author and illustrator Christopher Silas Neal.
• Make your own book and tell your own story with Booklyn: Free hands-on book / zine making workshop for all ages, all day long. Materials provided to create a vision board for the future of Brooklyn you want to see.
• At 1pm join Brooklyn Org and The Legal Aid Society for a community forum where residents can share the needs of the community and their vision for the Brooklyn they want to build. Elected leaders will be present.
• Free food, giveaways, raffle prizes, and more.
