Join us for Earth-friendly and car-free activities including music, fashion, bike lessons, and more. Albee Square West will be closed to traffic, so bring your bikes or roller skates, and enjoy activities and music at Albee Square. Here’s what’s happening:

Learn all about composting with BK ROT and take home some of Brooklyn’s finest compost! BASIS Independent Brooklyn will showcase their commitment to the planet while inviting you to “Grow with Us.” Join their Summer Camp Team as they plant seeds together and learn more about their programs.

Learn to ride a bike with Bike New York! Bike New York will teach kids 5-14 how to ride safely along Albee Square West (which is closed to traffic for the day), while parents and guardians cheer them on!

- Learn to hand sew and knit plastic fashionable items and BYO t-shirts to repurpose with Black Girls Sew.
- Brooklyn Book Bodega will offer free, environmentally themed books as part of their mission to increase the number of 100+ book homes for kids in NYC. Joining them will be author Susannah Aziz with her recent book, Halal Hot Dog.
- Make art from reused materials with Materials for the Arts, NYC’s premier creative reuse facility. Build mosaics and other art projects with old cds and vinyl!
- Rejin Leys invites you to make recycled paper while creating awareness about our environment.
- Dave & Buster’s will be on hand with their “Prize Drop” Plinko Game. Play to win fun prizes.
- Learn, celebrate and discover with Petits Poussins Brooklyn. Infants will explore nature with sensory activities while toddlers and preschoolers get creative with stamping and Earth collages. The school will also be hosting an Open House – register here.
2:30 PM – 3:15 PM
- Trashaganza! by Bash the Trash weaves together fun interactive songs, cool science, and timely environmental messaging about plastic pollution and climate change.
