Della Valle to take the helm as DBP marks the 20th anniversary of the Downtown Brooklyn Rezoning

Downtown Brooklyn Partnership (DBP) announced today that Alloy Development Principal and Co-Founder, Jared Della Valle, has been unanimously elected Chairman of its Board of Directors. Della Valle succeeds Jelena Kovačević, Dean of NYU Tandon School of Engineering and Ofer Cohen, Founder and Chairman of TerraCRG, and will lead a committed group of leaders in corporate, real estate, academic, and cultural sectors in their work to take Downtown Brooklyn to even greater heights.

“Jared and I have worked together on many endeavors, and he is a proven leader with an incredible passion for Brooklyn,” said Downtown Brooklyn Partnership President Regina Myer. “He joins us at an exciting and pivotal time as we look back on twenty years of growth since the 2004 rezoning and embark upon important initiatives focused on improving Downtown Brooklyn for businesses, residents, and visitors. Downtown Brooklyn is a leader in innovation, development, and entrepreneurship in New York City, and I look forward to having Jared lend his vision to its future.”

“I am thrilled to follow in the footsteps of Dean Kovačević to chair the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership,” said Chairman of the Board and Alloy Development Principal and Co-Founder Jared Della Valle. “Downtown Brooklyn is the beating heart of the borough, and with the significant investments made by both the public and private sectors, is well positioned to build on its success. I look forward to working with Regina and the DBP team as we continue to transform Downtown Brooklyn into a vibrant, dynamic urban center.”

“It has been my pleasure chairing the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership for the past six years, and I am proud of all the work we have accomplished; helping transform the area into a premier hub for business, tech, and higher education,” said outgoing Chair and Dean of NYU Tandon School of Engineering Jelena Kovačević. “The landscape has changed dramatically since we started, with Downtown Brooklyn becoming a thriving mixed-use community, and I am confident that under Jared’s leadership the neighborhood will continue to lead the way in growth and innovation for cities around the world.”

Della Valle has been a member of DBP’s board since 2016 and is an active, longstanding member of the community. He brings a wealth of experience in the design, construction, and real estate sectors and a strong network of relationships across industries that will help support DBP’s work to further establish Downtown Brooklyn as one of New York’s most desirable residential neighborhoods, business and cultural centers, and a hub of innovation. His deep understanding of the neighborhood will serve as a valuable resource for DBP.
