Cheers to DTBK’s Clean Team!

An important part the holiday calendar, Downtown Brooklyn Partnership held its annual “Clean Team” Holiday Party – at which we celebrate the work and dedication of The Doe Fund (TDF) – the hardy team who keep Downtown Brooklyn looking its best.

DBP has partnered with The Doe Fund for the past eleven years. Every member of its DTBK Clean Team works hard in all weather and takes pride in keeping Downtown Brooklyn clean, green, and safe. The lunch, at which the entire TDF squad of trainees and supervisors gathers with DBP and TDF staff, is a great opportunity to recognize their tremendous efforts.

The Steve Delk Honesty + Integrity Award

Every year DBP recognizes members of The Clean Team with The Steve Delk Honesty + Integrity Award. Named in honor of a former TDF supervisor, the award honors people who go above and beyond – who show up with consistency, responsibility, and care for the neighborhood and their team.

This year, there were two worthy recipients:

Miguel Ventura accepts the Steve Delk Award from DBP President, Regina Myer

Miguel Ventura, the Programming Maestro!
Mr. Ventura started as a trainee with The Doe Fund, and through his dedication and leadership moved into a supervisor role. In 2021, Mr. Ventura became DBP’s event supervisor, a position DBP created to ensure public events run smoothly. Since then, he’s become an expert in keeping events running like clockwork – from setup, to showtime, to breakdown – at more than 100 events every year.

Phillip Smith accepts the Steve Delk Award from DBP President, Regina Myer

Phillip Smith – Keeping DTBK Green!
Mr. Smith also started as a trainee with The Doe Fund, graduated in 2023, and quickly moved into a supervisor position. He has worked across all areas of Downtown Brooklyn, stepping in wherever he’s needed. His latest assignment has him leading the watering crew, where he’s excelled at caring for Downtown Brooklyn’s growing network of trees and plantings – even through the recent drought!
