Downtown Brooklyn’s wellness scene just got a whole lot hotter with the arrival of Hot 8 Yoga. This isn’t your average yoga studio – it’s a premium experience, offering a diverse range of classes in a luxurious yet welcoming environment. We spoke with Studio Manager, Charlotte Scott, about Hot 8 Yoga and its presence in Brooklyn Heights.

What’s Hot About Hot 8?

True to its name, Hot 8 Yoga cranks up the heat to an intense 111-116 degrees Fahrenheit, making it the hottest yoga experience in town. But it’s not just about the temperature – Hot 8 Yoga has a variety of six different class styles, including yoga, barre, and sculpt, that run from 6 am to 8 pm daily. The space is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including infrared heaters, antimicrobial floors, two spacious studios that can accommodate 45 students each, luxury shower amenities and rigorous cleaning protocols ensure a pristine environment. Despite the upscale setting, the atmosphere is friendly and inclusive, with staff knowing members by name. The Hot 8 experience also includes some unique touches such as salt shots, cool eucalyptus towels, and challenge boards to encourage Hot 8 Yoga regulars.

Class Highlights

From the high-energy barre classes to the intense 26 & 2 sequence, a sequence of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, Hot 8 offers something for everyone. The power classes provide a vigorous vinyasa flow, while sculpt classes incorporate weights for strength building. For those new to hot yoga, the studio recommends starting with their Welcome Week – one week of unlimited yoga for just $40.

Why Downtown Brooklyn?

The founder, a Brooklyn native now based in LA, recognized the similarities between the wellness-focused communities on both coasts. “Brooklyn has been waiting for so long,” says Charlotte. “New York is the mecca of the yoga world, and Downtown Brooklyn felt like the perfect spot to introduce Hot 8 Yoga to the East Coast… Downtown Brooklyn is where the business hustle meets residential calm, it’s the center of transportation and connectivity. We discovered the Downtown Brooklyn community was craving more than just exercise and our studio blossomed from this need.”

Looking Ahead

Hot 8 Yoga, which opened its doors in August, is actively recruiting newcomers to the Brooklyn wellness scene – offering promotional rates to encourage new students to begin or restart their yoga practice. For existing members, Hot 8 Yoga has introduced a challenge board with attractive rewards, designed to motivate and engage practitioners in their fitness journey. Through these initiatives, the studio aims to foster a vibrant local yoga community and support individuals with their wellness goals.

Hot 8 Yoga invites you to sweat it out in style. With its combination of intense heat, pristine facilities, and community spirit, it’s set to become a cornerstone of Downtown Brooklyn’s fitness and wellness circles.
